ABOUT THE WEB SITE

This web site describes the multi-year restoration of the E.H.Hobbson house, undertaken by Erna Hay. The house (opposite) underwent alteration over it's history - the starting point being 1823. The section "1823 - 2007" shows the original layout, and how it looked in 2007. The house is located in Greensburge, Kentucky - the map is interactive and provides both location, and directions

E.H.Hobson, a civil war General, makes the house of significant historic interest, and this aspect is covered in the "History" section.

The actual house restoration is describe in four sections - Exterior, First Floor, Second Floor and finally, Basement. Each section is a pictorial journey from the house's purchase, to its restoration.

Today (end 2010) the house is fully restored and used for social events. It is fully furnished in the period style, but has modern facilities because, ultimately Erna and her husband Tim will spend increasing time as residents. Until then Erna allows its use for parties, weddings and other occasions.
